A Milestone That Means More Than Words

Silhouette of mother and her two little children

On December 1st, I’ll be stepping into a brand-new chapter of my career — one that feels both surreal and incredibly special. I’m proud to share that I’ll be joining Warners Group Publications plc as their new Email Content Editor.

This isn’t just a job update. It’s a moment in my life that carries weight, emotion and meaning far beyond a change in job title. It’s a milestone I’ve fought hard for, learned hard for, and held onto tightly through every setback, late night and moment of doubt.

Why This Role Matters So Much

Warners Group Publications is a long-standing, family-run business grounded in a mission I deeply admire:
to inform, entertain and inspire communities through trusted, quality content.

To become a part of a company that values integrity, creativity and connection feels like the start of something truly meaningful. My role will involve crafting market-leading emails and e-newsletters, working closely with talented teams across outdoor hobby brands, and helping to shape content that genuinely resonates with tens of thousands of readers.

It aligns perfectly with everything I’ve studied, everything I’ve worked for, and everything I hope to continue building in the digital media landscape.

Less Than Six Months Since Graduating… and a Lot of Heart Behind It

When I walked across the stage to receive my Journalism degree earlier this year — after completing a Digital Marketing certificate and pushing myself to develop new skills — I wasn’t certain where life would take me next. But I knew I was ready to start fighting for the career I had dreamed of.

Fast forward to now, less than six months later, and I’ve secured a role that brings together everything I’ve been striving toward.

I’m proud of that.
Not boastful — just quietly, deeply proud.

Proud of the initiative I took.
Proud of the hours I committed.
Proud of the resilience I’ve shown.
And proud of the person I am becoming through it all.

Achieving This as a Single Mother of Two

This is where the emotion truly sits.

Achieving a career milestone like this as a single mother of two young boys adds another layer of meaning — one that’s hard to capture in words. The world doesn’t always make space for mothers to grow professionally. Opportunities are often harder to reach. Bias lingers in subtle and not-so-subtle ways. And more often than not, mothers — especially single mothers — are expected to shrink their dreams to fit the circumstances.

But I never wanted my boys to see me shrink.
I wanted them to see me try.

To see me fall and get back up.
To see me study, grow and rebuild.
To see me create a life that shows them what’s possible.

This role feels like a step toward that future — a piece of the legacy I want to build for them.

Gratitude to Warners for Making It Possible

I’m genuinely grateful to Warners Group Publications for recognising the realities that parents face and offering a flexible, family-friendly working schedule. That support isn’t just a benefit — it’s a lifeline for parents trying to balance ambition with care, aspiration with responsibility, career growth with raising little humans.

It means the world to me that I can give my best professionally and still be present for my children.

Looking Ahead

As I prepare to step into this role, my heart is full:
Full of excitement, gratitude, relief, pride, and hope for the future ahead.

I’m eager to dive in — to create, collaborate, experiment, analyse, and contribute to content that inspires and informs. I’m ready to learn even more, challenge myself further and grow into this opportunity with everything I have.

But most of all, I’m ready to keep showing my boys what strength looks like.
What resilience looks like.
What dreams look like when you refuse to let them go.

Here’s to new beginnings, meaningful work, and the journey that brought me here. ❤️
